As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 9:55 AM (MST), ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ATTEMPTED TO LAND A CESSNA 305A, N5207G, AT THE SHOW LOW AIRPORT (SOW, FIELD ELEVATION 6415). WINDS WERE OUT OF THE NNE AT 5-6 KTS. TEMPERATURE WAS 66 DEGREES F. DEW POINT WAS 48 DEGREES F. ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 30.26. DENSITY ALTITUDE WAS 8100 FT. AFTER TOUCHDOWN (ON RUNWAY 24), THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO VEER OFF TO THE LEFT AS INDICATED BY THE TWO SETS OF EQUAL LENGTH SKID MARKS. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUES TO THE LEFT AND DEPARTS THE RUNWAY AND INTO THE INFIELD SOD AS INDICATED BY THE CONTINUED SKID MARKS. AT SOME POINT AFTER DEPARTING THE RUNWAY, THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR IS TORN FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST UPRIGHT, SUPPORTED BY ITS LEFT LANDING GEAR AND RIGHT WING TIP. THE AIRCRAFT SUFFERED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING, RIGHT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER, RIGHT LANDING GEAR, AND PROPELLER. IT ALSO APPEARS TO HAVE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE REAR FUSELAGE SECTION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA271](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA271), Sep 23, 2015: Cessna 305A (N5207G), Show Low, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing in quartering tailwind conditions, which resulted in a runway excursion and a right main landing gear collapse.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
