## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INVESTIGATION REVEALED NO MECHANICAL IRREGULARITIES AND THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO HAVE AN ANNUAL INSPECTION ON THE AIRFRAME, ENGINE AND PROPELLER WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS. PILOT WAS CURRENT AND QUALIFIED WITH NO PRIOR ACCIDENTS. PILOT WAS OPERATING OFF OF A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP. HUNTERS WERE RUNNING HUNTING DOGS IN THE WOODS TO THE WEST OF THE RUNWAY HUNTING RABBITS. PILOT HAS ELECTED TO TAKE OFF ON THE EASTERLY EDGE OF THE RUNWAY TO GIVE HIMSELF A BIT MORE ROOM IN CASE THE DOGS RAN ACROSS THE RUNWAY. AFTER LIFTOFF, THE LEFT WING STRUCK A TREE LIMB AND SPUN THE PLANE INTO THE WOODS. WITNESS ACCOUNTS MATCHED PILOT?S. EVIDENCES SUPPORTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA278](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA278), Sep 25, 2015: Cessna 182A (N6361B), Ama, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to takeoff on a partially obstructed runway, which resulted in a collision with trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
