## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT THE PILOT EXTENDING THE GEAR. KNOWN MINOR DAMAGE INVOLVED THE PROPELLER LOWER FUSELAGE SKIN, FLAPS AND NOSE GEAR DOORS. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HIMSELF AND THE ONE PASSENGER, ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, WERE UNINJURED.

THE PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WAS FLYING TO DELIVER THE PLANE TO A NEARBY FIELD FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. WHEN THE PILOT TRANSITIONED TO THE DESTINATION AIRPORT UNICOM FREQUENCY HE REPORTED CONGESTION ON THE FREQUENCY. AFTER BROADCASTING HIS INTENTION OF CROSSING MIDFIELD TO ENTER DOWNWIND FOR LANDING, ANOTHER AIRCRAFT REPORTED DOWNWIND. WHILE ENTERING AND REPORTING DOWNWIND HE OBSERVED THE FORMER REPORTED DOWNWIND TRAFFIC ON AN EXTENDED BASE. AT THE SAME TIME A THIRD AIRCRAFT REPORTED ON FINAL. THIS REPORT BY THE THIRD AIRCRAFT WAS THE FIRST REPORT THE PILOT RECEIVED AND WAS FOLLOWED BY UNICOM FREQUENCY CONGESTION.

THE PILOT, DISTRACTED BY LOOKING FOR THE TRAFFIC AND MANEUVERING FOR PROPER SPACING, DID NOT PERFORM THE LANDING CHECKLIST AND DID NOT RECOGNIZE AND RESPOND TO THE GEAR WARNING HORN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
