## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

EJA978 WAS REPOSITIONING FROM ISM TO MCO. DURING TAKEOFF FROM RWY 06 AT ISM, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK 3 BIRDS (SANDHILL CRANES) AT ROTATION. THE FLIGHT LANDED AS PLANNED AT MCO, SINCE IT WAS EXTREMELY CLOSE BY, AND HAD LONGER RUNWAYS AND GOOD EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT IF NEEDED.

THE PIC REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE NOSE (JUST AFT OF THE RADOME), AND APPARENT FAN BLADE DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT ENGINE, AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO THE INLET/NACELLE OF THE LEFT ENGINE. PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE WERE SUBMITTED BY THE PIC.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
