## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 22 2015 N723RA A PIPER PA-34-200 WAS INVOLVED IN A NOSE GEAR UP LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNING FROM A PILOT TIME BUILDING FLIGHT. THE PILOT IN COMMAND TRIED TO GET THE NOSE GEAR TO LOWER AND LOCK IN POSITION WITH MULTIPLE REGULAR GEAR EXTENSION AND RETRACTIONS ALSO PERFORMED MULTIPLE MANUAL EXTENSION AND RETRACTION WITHOUT THE NOSE LANDING GEAR EXTENDING AND LOCKING.

AFTER THE PILOT CONFIRMED ALL PROCEDURES WITH THE POH AND GROUND PERSONAL THE DECISION WAS MADE TO LAND WITHOUT A NOSE GEAR THE PILOT PERFORMED A NORMAL LANDING WITHOUT ANY INJURIES. THE DAMAGES WERE LIMITED TO ENGINES AND PROP FROM GROUND STRIKES AND THE FIBERGLASS NOSE BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT. SINCE THE DAMAGES WHERE LIMITED TO THOSE AREA THIS GEAR UP LANDING MEETS THE CLASSIFICATION AS AN INCIDENT.

POST INCIDENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED A POSSIBLE FAILED HYDRAULIC LINE PREVENTING GEAR FROM EXTENDING PROPERLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
