## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER REPORTING HIS DOWNWIND APPROACH TO RUNWAY 18, THE PILOT BECAME ENGAGED IN A BRIEF RADIO TRANSMISSION WITH ONE OTHER AIRCRAFT. DURING THE RADIO INTERACTION WITH THE FIRST AIRCRAFT, A SECOND AIRCRAFT ALSO MADE A BRIEF TRANSMISSION STATING THAT HE WAS WITH THE TWO AIRCRAFT ALREADY TALKING. NO FURTHER RADIO TRANSMISSIONS WERE MADE.

THE PILOT REPORTED THAT BEFORE MAKING A BASE TURN, HE TOOK A SECOND TO LOOK FOR THE TWO OTHER AIRCRAFT THAT WERE POSSIBLY IN THE AREA. NO AIRCRAFT WERE SEEN, SO THE PILOT PROCEEDED WITH HIS APPROACH AND LANDING. THE PILOT STATED THAT IT WAS A NICE APPROACH AND LANDING UNTIL THE TOUCH DOWN AND THE REALIZATION THAT THE GEAR HAD NOT BEEN EXTENDED. THE PROPELLER HIT THE GROUND TWICE AND THEN STOPPED TURNING AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON RUNWAY 18, A GRASS RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
