## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED HE HAD LANDED ON RUNWAY 17 FOR A PLANNED TOUCH AND GO. AFTER ADDING POWER TO TAKE OFF, THE PLANE WENT LEFT ON THE RUNWAY. PILOT STATED HE REGAINED CONTROL JUST OFF THE SHOULDER OF THE RUNWAY WHEN THE PLANE HIT A SMALL (3 FOOT TALL) BUSH AND THE LEFT GEAR SEPARATED FROM THE AIRPLANE. AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP IN ABOUT 250 FEET. PILOT SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE WHICH WAS STILL RUNNING AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA043](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA043), Nov 2, 2015: Cessna 182 (N1706R), Douglas Bisbee, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's loss of directional control during takeoff, which resulted in a runway excursion, left main landing gear collapse, and a collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
