## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN WAS FLYING TWO FAA TECHNICIANS OUT TO MIDDLETON ISLAND TO MAINTAIN THE RUNWAY FALCILITY. DUE TO RECENT BUDGET CONSTRAINTS THE FAA CHANGED THE SCHEDULE FOR MAINTAINING THE RUNWAY CONDITIONS FROM FULL TIME TO A WEEKLY ROTATION. THEREFORE, NO INFORMATION FOR CURRENT RUNWAY CONDITIONS WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE AIRMAN. THE AIRMAN FLEW OVER THE RUNWAY TWO TIMES TO LOOK AT THE RUNWAY CONDITIONS. THE ORANGE REFLECTOR CONES WERE VISIBLE EXCLUDING THE BASE AREA FOR SOME OF THE CONES. THE AIRMAN CONCLUDED THAT APPROXIMATELY TWO TO THREE INCHES OF SNOW WAS ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE. VERY LITTLE SNOW WAS IN THE SURROUNDING AREA OF THE RUNWAY. AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT HIT A SNOW BERM THAT HAD DRIFTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RUNWAY CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER OFF THE RUNWAY INTO SOFT DIRT. THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE RIGHT WING SUSTAINED A SMALL WRINKLE ON THE SURFACE OF THE WING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED AND NO FURTHER DAMAGE WAS FOUND. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED A FERRY PERMIT AND FLEW BACK TO ANCHORAGE WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
