## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE APPROACH FOR LANDING INTO ABO AIRPORT, AIRCRAFT N911AK COLLECTIVE CONTROL JAMMED. THE PIC DECIDED TO GO FOR A RUNNING-LANDING WHEN THE HELICOPTER LANDED SHORT OF THE RUNWAY. AFTER IT TOUCHED DOWN , THE HELICOPTER BOUNCED ONCE AND THAT'S WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR OCCUPYING THE LEFT SEAT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE HELICOPTER. THE FLIGHT CREW WAS ABLE TO HOVER BEFORE SUCCESSFULLY LANDING IN RUNWAY 08. AFTER THE HELICOPTER LANDED SAFELY, THEY PROCEEDED TO SHUT DOWN ENGINES AND EXITED THE HELICOPTER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
