## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN ARRIVED AT AIRPORT, PREFLIGHTED AIRCRAFT, HE STATED THAT HE DID A WALK AROUND.

AT THIS POINT HE RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL FROM A FAMILY MEMBER INFORMING HIM OF A SERIOUS ILLNESS WITH IN THE FAMILY.

AIRMAN FINISHED THE CALL AND ENTERED THE AIRCRAFT FOR DEPARTURE. ONCE IN THE PILOTS SEAT HE STATED THAT HE COULD NOT SEE THE CONE PLACED IN FRONT OF THE AIRCRAFT.

AIRMAN STARTED THE AIRCRAFT, BEGAN HIS TAXI OUT OF THE OVERNIGHT PARKING SPOT AND STRUCK THE CONE, DAMAGING THE PROPELLER

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
