## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 12/27/15 A 177 CARDINAL N29533 ENTERED THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AT GRASS VALLEY AIRPORT AT APPROXIMATELY 16:20 PST. WHILE ON FINAL THE PILOT SAID THAT HE FELT LIKE HE WAS A LITTLE SLOW. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE TOUCHDOW WAS HARD AND ON ONE WHEEL. AFTER THE PLANE TOUCHED DOWN THE PILOT SAID THE PLANE STARTED TO PULL HARD TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE THEN ADDED POWER TO ATTEMPT A GO AROUND BUT THE POWER SEEMED TO MAKE THE PLANE PULL HARDER TO THE LEFT. THE PLANE EXITED THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST IN A DITCH ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. ALL THREE OCCUPANTS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA091](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA091), Dec 28, 2015: Cessna 177 (N29533), Grass Valley, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control during the touchdown and the subsequent attempted aborted landing which resulted in a runway excursion and impact with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
