## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRMAN WAS ON THE LAST LEG OF A CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT THAT ORIGINATED IN FAIRBANKS, ALASKA WITH A FINAL DESTINATION OF SEELEY LAKE, MONTANA.

THE AIRMAN CONTACTED HIS FRIEND, WHOM HE WAS MEETING UP WITH, TO GET RUNWAY CONDITIONS. AFTER ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT THE AIRMEN OVERFLEW THE RUNWAY AND HE CONCURRED WITH THE REPORT FROM HIS FRIEND.

AFTER TOUCHDOWN AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS SLOWING, THE LEFT TIRE WAS SUCKED INTO DEEPER SNOW WHICH PULLED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE LEFT.

THE AIRMAN ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THIS ACTION BUT THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED AND SLOWLY GROUND LOOPED, WHICH RESULTED IN THE RIGHT WINGTIP AND ELEVATOR CONTACTING A SNOW BERM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA097](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA097), Jan 5, 2016: Cessna 175 (N9493B), Seeley Lake, MT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot' failure to identify the plowed runway width in dusk and flat light conditions, which resulted in a touchdown left of the runway center, an impact with a snow berm, and a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
