## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

1/30/2016 - DISCUSSION WITH PILOT INDICATED THAT HE HAD TAKEN OFF FROM CHD FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT. UPON GEAR RETRACTION THE GEAR DID NOT CYCLE INTO THE RETRACTED POSITION. HE MADE A FLIGHT BY THE TOWER FOR THEM TO OBSERVE GEAR POSITION. THEY VISUALLY CONFIRMED THE GEAR WAS NOT FULLY RETRACTED. THE PILOT FLEW AROUND FOR A WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET THE GEAR TO TRANSITION USING THE NORMAL GEAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. FINALLY HE USED THE EMERGENCY HANDLE TO RELEASE THE GEAR AND WAS ABLE TO PUMP THE GEAR TO THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION.

PILOT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AT CHD.

MAINTENANCE INSPECTED LANDING GEAR SYSTEM AND DETERMINE THE MLG PRESSURE SWITCH WAS INOPERATIVE (OPEN ALL THE TIME). PRESSURE SWITCH WAS REMOVED, CLEANED, INSPECTED, AND TESTED AND RE-INSTALLED. GEAR RETRACTION TEST WAS SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO FURTHER HANG-UP CONDITIONS. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
