## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN DECIDED TO LAND AT AK44. FLIGHT SERVICE ADVISED THE AIRMAN THAT AK44 IS PRIVATE USE AND THE ONLY INFORMATION AVAILABLE WAS THAT A SKI EQUIPPED SUPER CUB HAD USED THE AIRSTRIP DURING THE PAST WEEK. AIRMAN MADE A LOW PASS OVER RUNWAY 16. HE STATED THAT IT LOOKED TO BE "HARD PACKED SNOW WITH MAYBE AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW ON TOP". DURING THE LANDING ROLLOUT THE NOSE GEAR DROPPED THROUGH THE SNOWS CRUST AND COLLAPSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
