## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ARRIVED AT MERIDEN MARKHAM AIRPORT (MMK) TO PRACTICE FULL STOP LANDINGS IN HIS STINGSPORT, A LIGHT SPORT AIRCRAFT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CHECKED THE WEATHER ON ATIS. HE WAS GOING TO BE USING RUNWAY 18 AND THE WIND WAS REPORTED AT 240, 8 GUSTING TO 10. ON THE FIRST FULL STOP LANDING, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOUCHED DOWN TO THE LEFT OF CENTERLINE. A SUDDEN GUST OF WIND CAME UP PUSHING THE AIRCRAFT INTO THE SNOWBANK ON THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TRIED TO CORRECT, BUT HIS INPUTS WERE INEFFECTIVE. THE LEFT MAIN STRUCK THE SNOWBANK FIRST CAUSING THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO TWIST AROUND STRIKING THE PROPELLER IN THE SNOW BANK, BREAKING TWO OF THE THREE BLADES AND BREAKING OFF THE NOSE GEAR BRINGING THE AIRCRAFT TO A STOP ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT, HE WAS NOT INJURED AND WAS ABLE TO EGRESS SAFELY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
