## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 03/01/2016 N439M, A SONEX AMATEUR BUILT EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT, SUCCESSFULLY LANDED ON RUNWAY 33 AT NANTUCKET MEMORIAL AIRPORT (ACK). THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSTRUCTED BY ATC TO TAXI OFF RUNWAY 33 ONTO RUNWAY 24 AND PROVIDED INSTRUCTION TO TAXI TO PARKING. THE WINDS IDENTIFIED BY THE PILOT WERE COMING FROM A NORTH WEST DIRECTION, APPROXIMATELY 310 DEGREES, GUSTING UP TO 22 KNOTS. THE PILOT STATED HE WAS USING THE APPROPRIATE CONTROL INPUTS WHILE TAXING, IDENTIFYING THE WINDS TO BE APPROXIMATELY 70 DEGREES OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT. WHILE TAXING DOWN RUNWAY 24, APPROACHING TAXIWAY A, A GUST OF WIND PICKED UP THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GROUND. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND ADVISED ATC OF THE INCIDENT REQUESTING ASSISTANCE WITH THE AIRCRAFT. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED BY THE PILOT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED BY GROUND PERSONAL TO THE RAMP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
