## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE OPERATOR?S PRIVATE AIRSTRIP TO DISPENSE DRY FERTILIZER ON A FIELD THAT HE HAD WORKED EARLIER THAT DAY. THE PILOT BEGAN TO ENTER A DECENT, AT THE SAME TIME THE ENGINE BEGAN TO BACK FIRE AND RUN ROUGH. HE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED HIS DECENT AND BEGAN EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. THIS HAPPENED AT APPROXIMATELY 300 FOOT AGL. NONE OF THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES IMPROVED ENGINE PERFORMANCE. THE PILOT THEN BEGAN TO DUMP THE FERTILIZER.

THE LANDING SIGHT THE PILOT HAD CHOSEN HAD AN INCREASING ANGLE (UP SLOPE). ONCE COMMITTED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT HIT VERY HARD IN A 3 POINT ATTITUDE AND THEN FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT THEN CAME TO REST AND THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNINJURED.
