## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY 13 AT EAST SIDE AIRPORT. POOR VISIBILITY WAS ENCOUNTERED DUE TO INADVERTANT FLIGHT FROM VFR TO IFR CONDITIONS. PILOT MADE MULTIPLE TURNS ATTEMPTING TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT BACK ONTO AIRPORT PROPERTY BUT STALLED THE AIRCRAFT INTO A WOODED AREA SOUTHEAST OF THE DEPARTURE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN16LA128](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN16LA128), Mar 18, 2016: Grumman AA5 (N9582L), Longview, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The noninstrument-rated pilot's decision to depart into instrument meteorological conditions, which resulted in a loss of control.

## Other reports on N9582L (1)
