## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED AT ALLISON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (K98) ON THE RUNWAY 18. DURING ROLLOUT, THE AIRCRAFT NOSE GEAR CAUGHT ON SOFT TURF AND COLLAPSED, THEN SLID UNTIL THE PROPELLER SPINNER DUG INTO THE GROUND/RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT ROTATED ONTO ITS BACK, CAUSING DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, ENGINE AND PROPELLER. PILOT WAS ALONE IN THE AIRCRAFT AND SUFFERED NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA154](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA154), Mar 22, 2016: Nicholson David F RV 9 (N347N), Allison, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper soft-field landing technique, which resulted in a nose landing gear collapse and a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
