## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN16LA134](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN16LA134), Mar 26, 2016: Grumman American Avn. AA 1B (N8883L), Stephenville, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power during cruise flight due to fuel exhaustion, which resulted from the pilot's inadequate preflight fuel planning and in-flight fuel management.

## Other reports on N8883L (1)

- [Incident 19850213009099I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19850213009099I), Feb 13, 1985: Gulstm AA1B (N8883L), Rapid City, SD, Minor damage. Student ballooned and bounced down runway. Came down hard on nose wheel on third bounce. Bent nose wheel and prop.
