## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^MR. ROBERTO PEON-CASTENLLANOS^, WHO WAS THE PILOT IN COMMAND, STATED THAT HE CANCELLED HIS IFR FLIGHT PLAN INTO KMGJ AND THEN ENTERED THE UNCONTROLLED AIRPORT TRAFFIC PATTERN IN VFR CONDITIONS. HE STATED THAT NORMALLY HE EXTENDS THE LANDING GEAR AT MIDFIELD DOWNWIND FOLLOWED BY A GUMPS CHECK ON FINAL APPROACH. ON THIS FLIGHT, HE WAS DISTRACTED ON BOTH OCCASIONS BY AN AIRCRAFT ANNOUNCING ITS ENTRANCE INTO THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AND ALSO A PROXIMITY WARNING FROM HIS ADS-B EQUIPMENT. DUE TO THE GUSTY WINDS, HE USED THE APPROACH FLAP SETTING AND DID NOT HEAR THE GEAR WARNING HORN UNTIL THE POWER WAS FULLY RETARDED AND IT WAS TOO LATE. THE PILOT IN COMMAND'S FAILURE TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT LANDING ON THE RUNWAY IN A GEAR-UP CONFIGURATION RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
