## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT HAD TAKEN OFF FROM DAVID WAYNE HOOKS AIRPORT, FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT. HE STATED THAT WHEN HE CAME BACK TO LAND THE TOWER ASKED HIM TO LAND ON THE SMALL RUNWAY, WHICH HE REFUSED. HE SAID HE FELT RUSHED TO LAND ON THE OTHER RUNWAY, BECAUSE SOME OTHER TRAFFIC WAS ON APPROACH. WHEN HE LANDED HE SAID THE WINDS WERE QUARTERING TAILWIND. THE WEATHER OBSERVATION HAD THE WINDS DIRECTION AT VARIBLE WITH A SPEED OF 5 KNOTS.

THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND LEFT THE RUNWAY, ENDING UP IN A DITCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA206](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA206), Apr 3, 2016: Boeing A75N1(PT17) (N501TT), Spring, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, resulting in a runway excursion and substantial damage to the lower left wing spar.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
