## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SECOND FLIGHT OF THE DAY, A PILOT WAS CONDUCTING A VISUAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 35 AT SOUTH SAINT PAUL AIRPORT, MINNESOTA. THE AIRCRAFT LOST LIFT AND IMPACTED THE RUNWAY WITH A LANDING ATTITUDE ATTITUDE DURING THE TRANSITION TO LANDING. SUBSEQUENTLY THE NOSE WHEEL ASSEMBLY WAS BENT FORWARD RESULTING IN FIREWALL DAMAGE AND SEPARATION FROM STRENGTHENING SUPPORTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE PROPELLER IMPACTED THE RUNWAY AND THE TIP OF EACH BLADE WAS MISSING. AIRCRAFT TAXIED CLEAR OF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO A STOP SINCE IT WAS ONLY ABLE TO TURN THE RIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA189](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA189), Apr 8, 2016: TL Ultralight Sro TL-3000 Sirius (N726T), South St. Paul, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain a proper landing flare in gusty wind conditions, which resulted in a hard landing and substantial damage to the firewall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
