## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 13, 2016 AT 10:35 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME, A PIPER, PA-24 COMANCHE AIRCRAFT, N5140P, REGISTERED TO AND OPERATED BY A COMMERCIAL PILOT, WAS DAMAGED WHEN IT ATTEMPTED TO LAND WITHOUT EXTENDING THE LANDING GEAR WHILE ARRIVING RUNWAY 02 AT THE ZEELAND, OTTAWA EXECUTIVE AIRPORT, (Z98) ZEELAND, MI. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS AND CALM WINDS PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE PERSONAL FLIGHT WAS BEING CONDUCTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 14 CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS (CFR) PART 91 ON AN INSTRUMENT FLIGHT PLAN. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM THE AUGUSTA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, AUGUSTA, KS AT APPROXIMATELY 06:35L EN ROUTE TO ZEELAND, MI.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
