## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS GIVING A FRIEND A RIDE IN THE GYROCOPTER. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WANTED TO SHOW HIS FRIED HIS HOUSE AND MADE A LOW APPROACH TO HIS RUNWAY. HE THEN FLEW DOWN A BAYOU. WHEN HE CLIMBED OUT HE HEARD A POP AND HE THOUGHT THE ROTOR FELT FUNNY. HE THEN DECIDED TO LAND ON HIS RUNWAY. WHEN ASKED TO DISCRIBE THE APPROACH AND LANDING, THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS HIGH AND FAST ON FINAL, WHICH CAUSED HIM TO OVERRUN THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
