## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS LANDING THE AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY 32. UPON LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO DRIFT TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. PILOT STATES HE APPLIED RIGHT RUDDER TO COMPENSATE FOR THE DRIFT AND MAY HAVE SIMULTANEOUSLY APPLIED BRAKES DUE TO THE HEEL BRAKE DESIGN ON THE AIRCRAFT. THIS RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT NOSE PITCHING DOWN INTO THE RUNWAY AND FLIPPING THE AIRCRAFT OVER AND ONTO ITS BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA203](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA203), Apr 26, 2016: Luscombe 8 (N71796), Maryville, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's unintentional brake application during the landing roll, which resulted in a nose over.
