## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS EXECUTING A POWER-OFF 180 DEGREE ACCURACY APPROACH AND LANDING TASK AS PART OF A COMMERCIAL PILOT PRACTICAL TEST ON RUNWAY 36, AT LXT. DURING THE LANDING, THE PILOT STALLED THE AIRCRAFT AND LANDED HARD. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED CAUSING THE RIGHT MAIN TO COLLAPSE, WHICH RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT THEN DEPARTED THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA236](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA236), May 12, 2016: Piper PA 28R (N228NC), Lee's Summit, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper pitch control after the landing flare, resulting in an aerodynamic stall, hard landing, and consequent substantial left wing damage.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
