## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A CIRRUS SR22, N463C, ATTEMPTED A TOUCH AND GO AT PAHOKEE, FL (PHK) ON RUNWAY 35 AT 10:35 ON 05/15/2016. PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE LEFT WING TIP IMPACTED THE GROUND 75 FEET WEST OF THE RUNWAY ASPHALT. THE AIRCRAFT ROTATED AROUND IN A CARTWHEEL FASHION CAUSING THE ENGINE, TAIL SECTION, RH MAIN LANDING GEAR AND NOSE GEAR TO BECOME SEPARATED FROM THE FUSELAGE. THE AIRCRAFT FUSELAGE CAME TO REST UPRIGHT AND THE PILOT ESCAPED WITHOUT INJURY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA234](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA234), May 15, 2016: Cirrus Design SR22 (N463C), Pahokee, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control and lateral bank control during the aborted landing, which resulted in collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
