## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 19, 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 1825 THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 36 AT FREEWAY AIRPORT (W00). THE PILOT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A LANDING HIS STUDENT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT LONG, MORE THAN HALFWAY DOWN THE RUNWAY, AND FAST. AFTER TOUCHING DOWN THE STUDENT SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER TO THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND SKID. AT THAT TIME THE PILOT (INSTRUCTOR) TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT SECURED THE ENGINE WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS STILL IN MOTION BUT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN ROLLED DOWN A HILL AND INTO A FENCE. MINOR DAMAGED WAS SUSTAINED TO THE SPINNER, ENGINE COWLING, AND PROPELLER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
