## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PIC LOST CONTROL ON LANDING ROLL-OUT DUE TO A GUST OF WIND. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT MAIN WHEEL DEPARTED THE PAVEMENT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY ONTO THE GRASS. THE PILOT REGAINED CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND PARALLELED THE RUNWAY THEN ROLLED OVER AN UNEVEN PORTION OF THE GRASS WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO FLIP INVERTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA274](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA274), May 31, 2016: Koons Donald H Cygnet (N81DK), Zanesville, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in a runway excursion, and a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
