## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE TAKE-OFF GROUND ROLL, PILOT NOTED THAT THE STALL HORN WAS CONTINUOUSLY AUDIBLE WHILE THE AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE WHILE IN GROUND EFFECT TWO TIMES THEN SETTLING BACK DOWN ON THE ESTIMATED FIFTY PERCENT OF REMAINING RUNWAY BEFORE BECOMING AIRBORNE TO AN ALTITUDE OF APPROXIMATELY 20-30 FEET AGL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT ABLE TO GAIN ADDITIONAL AIRSPEED AND STALLED. AS A RESULT OF THE STALL, THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND PAST THE RUNWAY IN A GRASS/PLANT COVERED ROUGH FIELD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA271](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA271), Jun 1, 2016: Cessna 182 (N21242), Elk River, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot exceeded the critical angle of attack during takeoff which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and impact with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
