06/05/2016 - AIRCRAFT N750Z, SERIAL NUMBER 208B1054, A CESSNA CARAVAN, MODEL 208B ENCOUNTERED A TAIL STRIKE WHILE BOARDING PASSENGERS WITHOUT THE TAIL STAND IN PLACE RESULTING IN STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE AFT FUSELAGE BULKHEAD AT FUSELAGE STATION 427.88.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA308](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA308), Jun 5, 2016: Cessna 208 (N750Z), Fort Dodge, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight crew's failure to install the tail stand prior to passenger boarding, which resulted in a tail strike.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
