## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT PILOT WAS RECEIVING INSTRUCTION IN LIGHT SPORT VMC IN A HOME BUILT AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS CLEARED FOR DEPARTURE ON RWY 32 AND BEGAN A TAKEOFF ROLL WITH THE STUDENT AT THE CONTROLS. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO VEER OFF THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT AS THE INSTRUCTOR PROCEEDED TO TAKE THE CONTROLS TO REGAIN POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY BEFORE THE INSTRUCTOR COULD REGAIN CONTROL, CAUSING THE LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE IN THE SOP. THE PROP ALSO MADE CONTACT WITH THE SOD AS THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
