## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MONDAY, JUNE 6, ABOUT 10:45 P.M. LOCAL TIME, A BOEING (MCDONNELL DOUGLAS) MD-11F AIRPLANE, N277UP, OPERATED BY UPS AIRLINES AS FLIGHT 61, WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED DURING A RUNWAY EXCURSION FOLLOWING A REJECT TAKEOFF (RTO) FROM RUNWAY 33L AT THE SEOUL-INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ICN) IN INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA. THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTEDLY INITIATED THE RTO DUE TO A BLOWN TIRE INDICATION FOLLOWED BY A SHARP FEELING OF DECELERATION DURING TAKEOFF ROLL. AFTER THE AIRPLANE DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST, ALL FOUR OCCUPANTS EVACUATED THE AIRPLANE. ONE MINOR INJURY WAS REPORTED. THE AIRPLANE WAS DESTINED FOR ANCHORAGE, ALASKA.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DCA16RA175](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DCA16RA175), Jun 6, 2016: Mcdonnell Douglas MD11 (N277UP), Incheon, South Korea, substantial damage

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
