## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PIC INITIATED THE FLARE APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET ABOVE THE RUWAY. AS THE FLARE CONTINUED THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO DRIFT LEFT AND THE LEFT WING DROPPED. CONTROL INPUTS BY THE PILOT DID NOT CORRECT THE TURNING. THE PIC APPLIED FULL POWER TO COMMENCE A GO-AROUND, SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE LEFT WING CONTACTED A FENCE POST ON THE BOUNDARY OF THE AIRPORT AND CRASHED IN TO A SMALL GROVE OF TREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA291](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA291), Jun 7, 2016: Billy Amerson Stol CH 750 (N80XY), Manning, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing, which resulted in an impact with a fence and trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
