ON JUNE 9, 2016, AT APPROXIMATELY, 10:15 MST, THE PILOT OF AIRCRAFT N9915Y ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON RWY 33 AT CENTRAL COLORADO AIRPORT (AEJ) BUENA VISTA, CO. JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT WAS BLOWN LEFT OF CENTERLINE, POWER WAS APPLIED FOR A GO AROUND, THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED AND CONTINUED ITS LEFT OF CENTERLINE DIRECTION. BRAKES WHERE APPLIED AND AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AT AN APPROXIMATE 60 DEG ANGLE. THE FRONT NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND BROKE OFF, CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO CONTACT THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 65 YARDS FROM THE RUNWAYS' EDGE. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA337](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA337), Jun 9, 2016: Cessna T210 (N9915Y), Buena Vista, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll in gusty wind conditions, which resulted in a runway excursion and substantial damage to the firewall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
