## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT FROM DOWNTOWN AIRPARK TULSA TO PRACTICE MANEUVERS IN THE LOCAL AREA. THE NEAREST WEATHER REPORTING STATION, KTUL, INDICATED WEATHER CONDITIONS AT THE TIME OF THE FLIGHT, WINDS WERE FROM 140 AT 6KTS, GREATER THAN 10 SM VISIBILITY, FEW CLOUDS AT 4000 FEET, BROKEN CLOUDS AT 25,000 FEET, BAROMETRIC PRESSURE 29.82. THE INSTRUCTOR WAS DEMONSTRATING AN AUTO ROTATION MANEUVER. DURING THE DEMONSTRATION, THE AIRCRAFT LANDED HARD ON THE MAIN SKIDS, THE SKIDS ABSORBED THE SHOCK AND TOUCHED DOWN ON THE MAIN SKIDS A SECOND TIME. IN ADDITION, ON THE SECOND TOUCHDOWN, THE REAR SKID ON THE VERTICAL STABILIZER SCRAPED THE DIRT AREA BEHIND THE HELIPAD LANDING AREA. THE PILOT STATED THE RPM WAS REDUCED, THEREFORE, THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT ABSORD THE TOUCHDOWN CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE CROSSBAR CONNECTOR ON THE REAR MAIN SKID, THE MOUNT FOR THE CAMERA, AND THE VERTICAL STABILIZER AND REAR SKID. NO INJURIES WERE NOTED. NO FIRE RESIDUE WAS NOTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
