## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT CONDUCTING A PRACTICE GPS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 3 AT TTA. THE FLIGHT WAS BEING FLOWN ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WHICH THE PILOT CANCELLED WHILE ON APPROACH TO TTA PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. APPROXIMATELY 7 TO 8 MILES FROM AIRPORT ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. ABOUT 2.5 MILES FROM THE FIELD AT APPROXIMATELY 2380 FEET THEY LOST ENGINE POWER AND WERE FORCED TO LAND IN A FIELD 0.8 MILES SOUTH OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
