## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRPLANE WAS ON APPROACH FOR LANDING ON 16, DECIDED TO GO AROUND DUE TO CHANGE IN WIND DIRECTION. ENGINE STOPPED WHEN POWER WAS APPLIED. AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN FIELD JUST SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT. THERE WAS NO PROPERTY DAMAGE OR POST FIRE. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN16LA235](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN16LA235), Jun 26, 2016: Cessna 182 (N5792B), Kankakee, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Aa total loss of engine power due to fuel starvation, which resulted from the low level of fuel unporting during a rapid spiraling descent.

## Other reports on N5792B (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19830515034049I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830515034049I), May 15, 1983: Cessna 182 (N5792B), Menomonee Falls, WI, 1 fatal. Main parachute failed to deploy. Jumper went into a spin. Opened reserve chute too late at 300 feet. No defects.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
