## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT RETURNING TO HOME BASE FROM TRIP TO CANADA. PILOT STATED HE NOTICED STRONG WINDS AT ALTITUDE BUT DUE TO LONG FLIGHT DAY, HE DID NOT PAY CLOSE ENOUGH ATTENTION. UPON PERFORMING A WHEEL LANDING, HE LOWERED THE TAIL WHEEL. HE REALIZED THE WINDS WERE STRONGER SO HE REACHED DOWN TO RAISE THE FLAPS. IN HIS MOVEMENT, HE RELEASED WIND CORRECTIONS ON THE AILERONS AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. IN THE TURN, THE RIGHT WIND TIP CONTACTED THE GROUND. AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIED TO HANGER WITHOUT INCIDENT.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
