## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS ATTEMPTING TO DEPART AIRPORT. SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF/LIFT OFF, THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED SOUTH OF THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE AND IMPACTED WITH SEVERAL SMALL APPLE TREES ON THE AIRPORT PROPERTY. ALL OCCUPANTS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT; WITHIN ONE MINUTE, THE AIRCRAFT CAUGHT ON FIRE, AND WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA356](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA356), Jul 3, 2016: Cessna 182 (N1642T), Llano, CA, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain an adequate airspeed and his intentional aerodynamic stall, which resulted in an impact with terrain and a post-impact fire.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
