## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED ON GRASS STRIP, APPROX. 2500 FT. PILOT INITIATED A SHORTFIELD TAKEOFF. WHEN ENG REACHED FULL RPM, PILOT RELEASED BREAKS. PILOT THEN NOTICED A SLIGHT RPM DROP, BUT RPMS DID GO BACK TO FULL. PILOTS NOTICED HE WASN'T BUILDING AS MUCH AIRSPEED AS NEEDED AT A CERTAIN POINT ON RUNWAY. PILOT STARTED TO ABORT TAKEOFF, AIRCRAFT CAME OFF GROUND SLIGHTLY. PILOT LOST CONTROL HITTING DITCH, AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER. NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN16LA250](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN16LA250), Jul 4, 2016: Bellanca 7ECA (N87083), Oak Ridge, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airplane control during the aborted takeoff, which resulted in it becoming airborne momentarily and then over running the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
