## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DEPARTED FROM BATON ROUGE LA ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN TO AUSTIN EXECUTIVE, TX (KEDC). WEATHER WAS VMC. CRUISE ALTITUDE WAS 6000 FEET WITH NO ADVERSE WEATHER OR TURBULENCE. ON APPROACH TO KEDC PILOT REDUCED POWER TO IDLE TO BOTH LOSE ALTITUDE AND REDUCE AIRSPEED TO CONFIGURE FOR LANDING. WHILE BEGINNING BASE TURN, PILOT ATTEMPTED TO ADD POWER BUT GOT NO RESPONSE FROM THE THROTTLE. AFTER SOME QUICK TROUBLESHOOTING DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE, PILOT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A CORN FIELD 2 MILES FROM KEDC. AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS MINOR AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. APPROXIMATELY 15 GALLONS OF FUEL REMAINED ON BOARD. NO POST CRASH FIRE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
