## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 9, 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 2045 MOUNTAIN DAYLIGHT TIME, A MCDONNELL DOUGLAS DC-10 AIRCRAFT, N522AX RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE WHEN THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED INTO A HANGAR. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS WERE IN EFFECT AND THE RAMP WAS DRY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE GROUND OR FLIGHT CREW.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING USED AS A PUBLIC USE AIRCRAFT FOR FIRE FIGHTING PURPOSES. THE AIRCRAFT HAD LANDED AND WAS BEING MARSHALED INTO POSTION FOR RELOADING OF THE FIRE FIGHTING CHEMICALS. THE COMPANY WAS USING TWO WING WALKERS AND ONE PERSON IN FRONT OF THE AIRCRAFT DIRECTING THE PILOT. THE LEFT WING WALKER WAS GIVING THE THUMBS UP WHEN THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT WING TIP HIT THE HANGAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
