## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE FOR AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT N23483 ON JULY 11, 2016 AT CLEVELAND, GEORGIA (0GE5)

ON JULY 11, 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 13:30, A CESSNA 150H N23483 LANDED AND ON ROLLOUT THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED, ON THE SOUTHERN DIRECTION OF MOUNTAIN AIR PARK (0GE5), CLEVELAND, GA.

THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REPORTED THAT AFTER A SMOOTH LANDING AND STRAIGHT ROLLOUT, THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN A RIGHT HAND TURN AND WAS UNRESPONSIVE TO LEFT RUDDER AND LEFT BRAKE INPUTS. AT THE SAME TIME THE LEFT WING BEGAN TO DROP. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE NOSE DROPPED. THE SPEED AT WHICH THE TURN BEGAN WAS 25-35 MPH.

THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST AT THE RIGHT EDGE OF THE GRASS RUNWAY. UPON EXITING, HE FOUND THAT THE LEFT LANDING GEAR HAD BECOME SEPARATED FROM THE AIRFRAME AND HAD BEEN DRAGGED ALONG BY THE STILL ATTACHED BRAKE LINE. THE LEFT GEAR AND LEFT WING WERE DRAGGED ALONG FOR APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET AND CAME TO REST IN DITCH ON SIDE OF RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA374](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA374), Jul 11, 2016: Cessna 150 (N23483), Cleveland, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: Failure of the left main landing gear attachment during the landing roll, which resulted in a left landing gear collapse, and damage to the left wing and aileron.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
