## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 7/24/2016 AT APPROX. 1130 EDT A STUDENT OF ROCHESTER SKYDIVERS IMPACTED TERRAIN AT A HIGHER THAN NORMAL VELOCITY. THE STUDENT WAS UNABLE TO DEPLOY HIS MAIN PARACHUTE AT THE PLANNED ALTITUDE OF 4500 FT AGL. BY THE TIME THE STUDENT DEPLOYED HIS MAIN PARACHUTE THE RESERVE PARACHUTE DEPLOYED ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY (APPROX. 850 FT AGL). THE STUDENT WAS AIRLIFTED TO HOSPITAL COMPLAINING OF NUMBNESS AND TINGLING BELOW THE NECK.

THE INJURED STUDENT WAS TREATED FOR A FRACTURED VERTEBRAE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
