## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 25TH, 2016, APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES INTO A FLIGHT FROM MDW TO HPN, ATC CONTACTED THE PILOT NOTIFYING HIM THAT A WHEEL CAME OFF OF AN AIRCRAFT DURING TAKE-OFF AND WAS POSSIBLY FROM HIS AIRCRAFT (N721G). GROUND PERSONNEL AT MDW RECOVERED THE WHEEL, AND AFTER RELAYING THE INFORMATION TO THE D.O.M., IT WAS DETERMINED TO HAVE COME FROM THE #1 POSITION OF THE MAIN LANDING GEAR OF N721G. AFTER THE DETERMINATION WAS MADE THAT THE WHEEL CAME FROM N721G, THE PILOT REDUCED SPEED AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY TO LAND AT BDL. THE PILOT RECEIVED VISUAL VERIFICATION FROM GROUND PERSONNEL AT BDL THAT THE WHEEL WAS MISSING FROM THE #1 POSITION AND LANDED AT BDL WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
