## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WEATHER CONDITIONS: VFR WITH BROKEN AT 4,500' FLIGHT WAS OPERATING IN VFR, WITH FLIGHT FOLLOWING. WEATHER WAS NO FACTOR AND RUNWAY WAS DRY CONDITION.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED SPRINGDALE, ARKANSAS (KASG) ON 27 JULY 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 1310. FINAL DESTINATION WAS TO BE OSHKOSH, WI (KOSH) WITH A FUEL STOP AT DAVENPORT, IA (KDVN).

UPON ARRIVING KDVN, ON 27 JULY 2016, PILOT ASKED FOR THE RNAV 21 FOR PRACTICE. THE APPROACH AND LANDING WENT AS PLANNED AND UNEVENTFUL. AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO SETTLE INTO IT'S WEIGHT. ONCE THIS OCCURRED THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO VEER TO THE RIGHT (WEST). PIC APPLIED OPPOSITE RUDDER AND PULLED POWER. WHILE THIS HELPED, IT STILL WAS NOT ENOUGH TO STAY ON THE RUNWAY. AS THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY ONTO THE GRASS, THE PROP HIT A RUNWAY LIGHT FIXTURE WHICH STOOD UP ABOUT 2 FEET FROM THE GROUND SURFACE. AFTER THE PROP STRIKE THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET TO A STOP. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ABOUT 30 FEET TO THE WEST OF RUNWAY 21 IN THE GRASS. THIS ALL TOOK PLACE AT 1628 ON 27 JULY 2016.

AFTERWARDS, PIC ALONG WITH AIRPORT PERSONNEL, WALKED THE RUNWAY AND DETERMINED THE RIGHT TIRE HAD TO BE FLAT UPON LANDING AS YOU COULD VISIBLY SEE "WOBBLE" MARKS DOWN THE RUNWAY. THE FLAT TIRE WAS OBVIOUS THE CULPRIT OF THE PULLING TO THE RIGHT OR WEST THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED. PIC REPORTED PRE-FLIGHT BEFORE DEPARTING SPRINGDALE, AR (KASG) DID INVOLVE USING A TIRE GAUGE TO CHECK ALL TIRE PRESSURES. PIC DID ADD A LITTLE AIR TO THE LEFT TIRE BUT THE RIGHT TIRE (THE FLAT) WAS RIGHT AT PILOT OPERATING HANDBOOK (POH) STANDARD.

THE MAINTENANCE MAN, MATT VANLANDSCHOOT, AT CARVER AERO IN DAVENPORT, IA HELPED GET THE AIRCRAFT OFF THE GRASS AND INTO HIS MAINTENANCE HANGER. HIS PERSONAL OPINION WAS A TUBE INTEGRITY FAILURE "PROBABLY" DURING FLIGHT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
