## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE FLIGHT WAS PLANNED AS A PART 91 FLIGHT. THE PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 36 AT DWIGHT AIRPORT (KDTG), A TURF RUNWAY, AT APPROXIMATELY 1920. THE CLOSEST RECORDED WEATHER AT PONTIAC, IL (PNT) AT 1915 WAS SKY CLEAR, WINDS 125 DEGREES AT 3 KNOTS. AFTER LANDING, THE PIC RECOGNIZED SHE HAD LANDED LONG AND THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH RUNWAY AVAILABLE TO STOP. THE PIC THEN ELECTED TO INITIATE A GO AROUND. THE AIRCRAFT LIFTED OFF BUT WAS UNABLE TO CLEAR THE VEGETATION IN THE ADJACENT FIELD AND STRUCK THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY 175 FEET BEYOND THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP INVERTED APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET BEYOND THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY (SEE ATTACHED DIAGRAM).

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA16CA397](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA16CA397), Jul 28, 2016: Olmsted Charles A RV (N54CV), Dwight, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delayed action to perform an aborted landing, which resulted in a nose over and substantial damage to the firewall, fuselage, and empennage.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
