## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCIDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING TOUCH-AND-GO MANEUVERS ON RUNWAY 16L, AT VAN NUYS AIRPORT, VAN NUYS, CA.

DURING HIS FINAL TOUCH-AND-GO MANEUVER, HE LANDED HARD, WHICH RESULTED IN THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR BREAKING OF FROM THE AXLE OF THE AIRCRAFT.

DURING CLIMB OUT, THE PILOT REPORTED TO VAN NUYS ATCT SOMETHING BANGING, AND REQUESTED THE CONTROLLER TO VISUALLY CHECK WHAT IT WAS. THE VNY ATCT CONTROLLER STATED, "YOUR LEFT MAIN GEAR IS DANGLING." PILOT STATED TO THE CONTROLLER, "WHAT SHOULD I DO?" THE CONTROL ASKED THE PILOT OF THE ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT IF HE WANTED TO RETURN FOR LANDING, WHICH THE PILOT RESPONDED HE DID.

SHORTLY AFTER CLIMB OUT, ON RUNWAY 16L, ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT MADE A LEFT TURN, EAST BOUND, AND LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT, CROSSING ABOVE VALJEAN STREET, IN VAN NUYS, CA. THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT WING CLIPPED SEVERAL TELEPHONE POLE CABLES. THE IMPACT OF THE LEFT WING TO THE TELEPHONE POLE CABLES SNAPPED THE TELEPHONE POLE FROM THE BOTTOM, AND THE AIRCRAFT PROCEEDED FORWARD ON TOP OF A PARKED VEHICLE, EVENTUALLY CRASHING IN BETWEEN TWO BUILDINGS: 16149 HART ST AND 16145 HART ST, VAN NUYS, CA. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST UPSIDE DOWN.
